About Me

Dr. Michael G. Kim is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon with Coast Neurosurgical Associates in Long Beach and serves as Assistant Clinical Professor of Neurological Surgery at the UC Irvine School of Medicine.

HIs clinical interests include. His clinical interests include brain tumors, neuro-oncology, and complex cranial surgery. His training allows him to offer the most up-to-date and advanced care to his patients.

He received his medical degree from Brown University and residency in neurosurgery at New York Medical College at Westchester Medical Center where he served as chief resident. He then completed a fellowship in skull base neurological surgery at University of California Irvine School of Medicine where he now serves as faculty. He is board-eligible from the American Board of Neurological Surgery.

Dr. Kim’s research and operative videos in skull base, neuro-oncology, and neuro-trauma have led to dozens of peer reviewed journal publications, abstracts, and presentations at national conferences. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, running, listening to audiobooks, and playing chess.
