We offer ongoing support to our patients and families as needed throughout hospitalization and recovery. We work with the health care team to meet the individual spiritual and emotional needs of our patients.

  • We offer emotional support in coping with illness and grief to all age groups.
  • We address cultural rituals for individuals and support their belief systems.
  • We offer support to patients and their families, including bereavement support groups.
  • We work closely with local clergy to meet the individual needs of our patients.
  • We are available for sacraments and services (baptism, communion, sacrament of the sick, weddings, blessings, funerals/memorials).

How to Reach Us

Our office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. On weekends and holidays and for emergencies there is an on-call Chaplain who can be reached as needed. If you would like to speak with one of the Chaplains or have questions about any our programs, please call (562) 933-1450.

About our Bereavement Support

We also have an extensive bereavement program where we offer bereavement information/resources and grief support groups. 

Adult Bereavement Support Group
  • Wednesdays, 4:30-6 pm
  • Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital - Conference Room B
  • This is a support group which also includes discussion on various grief topics.
  • 12-week rotation of topics, but this is an Open Group and you can come any Wednesday.
  • This group is No Cost and parking validations provided.

Perinatal Bereavement Support Group for Ectopic Pregnancy, Miscarriage, Stillbirth or Newborn Death

The purpose is to provide, comfort, support and a safe and sacred space to grieve.

  • 2nd Monday of each Month
  • 6:30-7:30pm
  • Meetings are both In-Person and Virtual
  • This is an ongoing one-year support group.

Chapel Services

Catholic Mass in our LBMC Chapel Wednesdays and Fridays 12 noon and some Holy Days of Obligation.
