“How do you train your staff and nurses to be so kind?”

This is the question that Breast Cancer survivor and Orange Coast Medical Center patient Jeanne Shipp asked when she called the Foundation to share her journey with us! “Switching to the MemorialCare Medical Group made me extremely happy at my very first appointment!" After a needle biopsy revealed that Jeanne had breast cancer, she was sitting in the office of Breast Care Specialist, Dr. Jane Kakkis the very next week learning about her surgery. After a very successful surgery she was cared for by Dr. Jack Jacoub, Medical Director of OC Blood and Cancer Care, learning about a test that is only available in four places in the United States and would determine if she would have to undergo chemotherapy. Once it was revealed that she would not, her next step was a visit to Dr. Asif Harsolia, Radiation Oncology Specialist at the Orange County Cyberknife and Radiation Oncology. Thanks to this state of the art technology, Jeanne was able to undergo only five days of internal radiation as opposed to 6-8 weeks of external radiology. Thanks to the excellent and attentive care from her physicians at the MemorialCare Breast Center at Orange Coast along with the state of the art technology at the Orange County Cyberknife and Radiation Oncology, Jeanne conquered her battle!

“Everyone who cared for me, from the valet staff to the physicians were professional and kind!”
