A Multicenter, Randomized, Observer-Blinded, Active-Controlled Study Evaluating the Safety, Tolerability, Pharmacokinetics, and Efficacy of Ceftaroline Versus Ceftriaxone Plus Vancomycin in Pediatric Subjects With Complicated Community-acquired Bacterial Pneumonia. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of ceftaroline versus ceftriaxone in children less than 18 years of age and greater than 2 months who have complicated pneumonia and are admitted to the hospital.  Along with this, the study wants to determine how good ceftaroline is at treating pneumonia in children and how the drug works and is broken down in the body. This is a multi-center, randomized observer-blinded study.  A total of 40 patients less than 18 years of age and greater than 2 months of age admitted to the hospital with pneumonia will randomly be selected to receive either the antibiotics ceftriaxone with vancomycin or the study drug ceftaroline. Both drugs have been approved for treatment of pneumonia.
