Computerized tomography angiography (CTA) of the kidney
Computed tomography angiography (CTA) of the kidney
Computed tomography angiography is an exam that uses a contrast (dye) that is placed into the blood stream so that vessels in the body can be seen when an internal image is taken. With Computed Tomography (CT) scanning you will lie on a CT examination table as it moves through the scanner. The CTA captures images of the blood flow in the arteries and helps identify areas of arterial narrowing. Common areas of the body that are examined by CTA include the brain, heart, lungs, kidneys, legs and arms. CTAs help detect a wide range of heart conditions, such as abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), coronary artery disease (CAD), and peripheral vascular disease (PVD).
