Genetics Counseling

Most breast cancers manifest without a known cause but some are hereditary. Saddleback Memorial Medical Center recently became recognized by the National Institutes of Health for our work in Cancer Genetic Counseling. Our genetic counseling service is lead by Patricia Gambol who is one of only 34 Advanced Practice Nurses in Genetics in the United States.

Breast Ultrasound

In addition to mammograms, your Breast Center health care provider may recommend a breast ultrasound. An ultrasound utilizes high-frequency sound waves to create an internal image of your breast. This screening allows our specialized physicians to get a closer look at the chest walls and breast lumps to detect causes of breast symptoms.
