General Adult VolunteersWe encourage adult men and women from our community to join hands with us and make a difference. Whether you are retired or working we have many ways for you to participate and contribute. To begin the process of becoming a part of our Adult Service Volunteer team, you will need to complete an application form. After we have received your completed application, we will make an appointment to meet with you personally to discuss your interests, skills, and availability and once you have been accepted, you'll be asked to provide documentation of your immunization history, including measles, mumps, rubella, chicken pox and tetanus along with the results of a tuberculin skin test. Adults must also consent to a security background check. We ask you to commit to a regular volunteer schedule of at least two hours per week and placement is based on position openings. You will also be required to attend a four-hour general new volunteer orientation, which will help you to assume your role as a member of our Volunteer team! Volunteer partnerships with Long Beach Memorial Medical Center/Miller Children’s Hospitals are established at the discretion of hospital management.
