Kristin J. Laporte, MD

Junior Fellow, American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology
Diplomate, American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology

Growing up in Laguna Hills, Dr. Kristin Laporte knew she wanted to help others by becoming a doctor after being inspired by her own caring pediatrician. As a native Southern Californian, the transition to UCSD was easy and in 1998 she graduated Magna Cum Laude (and on the National Dean’s List) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology.

1999 to 2003, Dr. Laporte ventured out and attended Loyola University Chicago-Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Illinois. While in medical school she was able to participate in the International Service Immersion Trip as a volunteer healthcare worker in Belize, Central America, interacting with various cultures while providing medical treatment to underserved villages. “It was so rewarding to provide day-to-day care, which we sometimes take for granted, in a third-world country. Our clinic was the only source of medical care since the hospital was over an hour away.” Dr. Laporte completed her residency at Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, Texas) in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She was Chief Resident from 2006 to 2007 and was also honored with the Resident Humanitarian Award in 2007.

To be closer to her family, Dr. Laporte moved back to Orange County in 2010 and joined The Women’s Health Center (conveniently located down the street from her grandparent’s home!). She enjoys spending time with her nephews, relaxing and trying new wines with friends, improving her golf game, and going to the gym.
