Barry J. Zamost, MD

Dr. Barry Zamost was born and raised in New Jersey. He received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Boston University. His internship and residency were at the Wadsworth Veterans Hospital in Los Angeles, and his gastroenterology fellowship was completed through the combined UCLA-VA program. He is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Dr. Zamost started his private practice in Long Beach in 1981 and was one of the original founders of Long Beach Gastroenterology Associates in 1983. He is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association, American College of Gastroenterology, Orange County Society of Gastroenterology, Southern California Society of Gastroenterologists and Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America.

Dr. Zamost provides personalized care to all patients with gastrointestinal disorders, and has extensive experience in endoscopy and colonoscopy.

Dr. Zamost is married and has three grown children. He enjoys reading, movies and travel. He is a sports enthusiast, swims, plays golf and tennis.
