Although his father is a physician, Dr. Liou (pronounced Lu) didn’t decide on a career in medicine until he started college. He graduated Cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Rice University in Houston, Texas before earning his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, also in Houston. While doing his Internal Medicine residency, Dr. Liou fell in love with Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine and went on to do intensive fellowships at UCI Medical Center in both specialties. In 2011, he was honored with the “Fellow of the Year” award for excellence in teaching.
“Knowing that I can make such an impact on someone’s life by helping them improve their health through my care and treatment, gives me great satisfaction.” Dr. Liou has special interests in pulmonary hypertension and lung cancer.
Outside of the office, Dr. Liou likes spending time with his family, do some gardening, and watch baseball.
As a specialist, Dr. Liou may not be selected as a primary care physician. Dr. Liou accepts patients age 18 and over.
