Staying at the Forefront of Technology

Having fully embraced electronic medical records (EMR) for more than six years, our health care family is even more connected.

The ability to communicate directly and share vital patient information enables all MemorialCare caregivers to provide a continuum of care. Providers have instant access to integrated, comprehensive medical records at any patient touch point - in a physician’s office, at one of our MemorialCare HealthExpress clinics, in the Emergency Department or in the hospital.

We’re proud to be an early adopter of a comprehensive, system-wide EMR and particularly proud that more than 98 percent of MemorialCare’s physicians have transitioned from paper to EMR entries. What’s the impact for MemorialCare patients? Better care as a result of increased order speed, a reduction in unnecessary duplication of tests and access to information about a patient’s conditions, allergies and medications, all at the caregiver’s finger-tips.

Along with increased use of EMR at our inpatient sites, many of our physician partners have embraced our ambulatory system, myMemorialCare. And no physician or patient is left out. Additional options provide physicians who have other systems, and those who do not have an EMR, with the means to be a part of our integrated network. Our MyChart patient portal keeps patients connected with their physicians and other care team members, providing patients with the tools and information they need to stay healthy.
