In April of 2017, Tori and Trevor Tait discovered they were going to be parents. Thrilled about their new adventure, they began a search for the perfect hospital to deliver. Luckily, the search did not take long, as they found MemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center through recommendations from friends.

As 2017 came to a close, Tori and Trevor made big plans for celebrating New Year’s Eve. Their first child was scheduled to make her appearance on December 31st and they were looking forward to spending the evening with her.

Although they had a plan in place, it didn’t work out the way they expected. Caroline Mae Tait missed her deadline by two hours and 14 minutes, and by doing so, entered the world as an eight-pound celebrity – MemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center’s first baby of 2018.

“All the nurses were amazing – super kind, super professional. Thanks to them, we knew exactly what was going on during every minute of labor,” says Tori.

With her healthy newborn nestled in her arms, Tori was excited to be a mom. Thanks to the support of Saddleback Medical Center’s prenatal classes, nurses, lactation expert and her pediatrician, she felt prepared for the next chapter of her journey.
