Orange Memorial has been ranked as high performing in 5 specialty areas in U.S. News Media & World Report’s 2011-12 Best Hospitals rankings, available online at usnews.com/besthospitals. The rankings, annually published by U.S. News for the past 22 years, will also be featured in the U.S. News Best Hospitals guidebook, which will go on sale August 30. In the report, Orange Coast Memorial was ranked as high performing in the areas of Diabetes & Endocrinology; Ear, Nose & Throat; Gynecology; Neurology & Neurosurgery and Orthopedics. In each of these specialties, categories including patient survival rates, advanced technologies, patient volume, nurse staffing and patient services were measured, and Orange Coast Memorial consistently received marks of ‘high,’ ‘highest,’ and ‘better than expected.’ The 2011-12 rankings showcase 720 hospitals out of about 5,000 hospitals nationwide.
