Imaging Technology at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center
Meet: KristiCT Scan Technologist
Q: What makes your work
day satisfying?
A: Making patients feel at ease and helping them to have a good experience during their CT exam.
Q: Why did you choose
your field?
A: I wanted to have an active roll in patient care.
Q: Tell us how you used best practice medicine to enhance a patient’s life.
A: I feel so fortunate to use the most advanced CT Scanner available on the market to date. I had a patient that was having severe pain in her hip. A CT Scan on our GE VCT Scanner revealed a fracture in her hip that was not seen on plain x-ray. The diagnosis was made and the patient was taken to surgery to have her hip pinned.
Q: What exciting new technology, techniques or procedure(s) have you performed recently?
A: CTA Coronary Angiograms are the newest exam we are performing. It’s an awesome non-invasive study of the coronary arteries.
Q: What was your most rewarding day in the past year and why?
A: The day I found out that because of this new technology that we have at Saddleback Memorial, the GE VCT Scanner, we contributed to lengthening and probably saving a fellow employees life.
Q: What advances or continuing education programs have you achieved?
A: Training for CTA Coronaries by GE on our new VCT Scanner.
